Ghostbuster Universal Stool in the final round of
the Ro Plastic Prize 2021

Great news!

Ghostbuster Universal Stool created in cooperation with the Studio RygalikBoomplastic and the MARE Foundation is the finalist of the third edition of the Ro Plastic Prize 2021, curated by Rossana Orlandi. The stool will be exposed on 3-12 September at the Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology in Milano, during the Design Week.

The stool was made out of recycled PE from ghost nets retrieved from the Baltic by the MARE Foundation and Kołobrzeska Fish producers Group. Recycling of ghost nets very often leads to the creation of products, which contain only a small amount of retrieved nets and therefore such products do not comply with the principles of circular economy. We have taken steps to find a sustainable method to recycle the nets and create a stool for self-assembly. The product will help us to  continue the efforts aimed at cleaning and protecting the Baltic. We are happy that this unique cooperation will permit to increase the public awareness on the need to protect the Baltic and brings us closer to the future, where people live in harmony with nature.

Keep your fingers crossed for MARE!
